The stainless steel used for the OBUT RCX new generation is genuinely one-of-a-kind, having never been utilized previously by La Boule Obut. The RCX new generation three-boule set is a cutting-edge, high-performance product that takes use of OBUT’s cutting-edge technology.

On rough ground (hard, firm, pebbly), the impact absorbing ability of this boule set is exceptional, reaching a level never attained by any other stainless steel model.

  • Made from Special New Technology Stainless Steel
  • Natural Satin stainless steel finish
  • Sold as a set of three boules
  • Hardness: Impact Absorber + (“AMORTI +”)
  • Special stainless steel: requires only occasional maintenance
  • Accuracy of weight +/- 2g
  • Accuracy of diameter +/- 20 hundredths of a mm
  • Made in France

Ideal for:
(a) Shooters: Direct Hit –  The new OBUT RCX has very little recoil when it strikes another petanque boule. It remains extremely close to the field of play, which forces the other team to play.
(b) Pointers: High Lobbed – The established impact absorption of this set is beneficial for high lobbing pointers. Exceptional feel that gives you control over “lifting the boule”
(c) Difficult Ground – Hard, Made specially for “rough” courts – gravel, tarmac, stones
How will the OBUT RCX new generation of boules wear?

Wear and tear on a petanque boule is difficult to explain and compare. It depends on the model, how often you play and on the type of ground and player. The wear on the RCX new generation is comparable to that of other Impact absorber + hardness models (like Superinox).

It is a fact that after a number of very powerful impacts with other boules, small flat marks will appear on the surface. Scratches will appear if the boules are in contact with pebbly or tarred ground. This “hammering” of the boule will not alter its hand grip. The boule remains pleasant to the touch even when worn.

Stainless Steel boules will not rust if proper maintenance is done.
